A versatile artist, Scott works in a variety of media, including sculpture, painting and photography, and was the Grand Prize Winner of American Photo Magazine's annual competition. Scott has been commissioned to create artworks for well-known celebrities, public agencies, (The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power) and The African American Museum in Los Angeles. Though many of her lifelike sculptures are cast in fiberglass or bronze, she also carves alabaster, jade, marble, soapstone and douglas fir - wood from which she carves African totem poles which stand nine feet tall. Arsenio Hall, Mike Ferris and Tisha Campbell are among the many who have collected her distinctive work. Scott received training at the Otis Parsons Art Institute
and the Art Center College of Design with additional private instruction from
Joan Carl, Richard Ellis and John Paul Thornton. Her artworks have been shown
throughout Africa, Europe and the United States. Scott is a graduate of the
University of Southern California. |
